About THE FIRM
Doran Law was founded on the principle that the best legal services should not be the exclusive privilege of those with the most money. We represent victims who often cannot afford the legal services they need and we provide. Victims injured by the unsafe conduct of others are especially vulnerable and in need of the best advocates the Bar can offer. When you are injured, your life is turned upside down. Your first priority is getting better. You face medical bills, may be unable to work, and likely cannot imagine the nature of the opposition you will face when you ask to be compensated from the person or company that hurt you. Our law firm is dedicated to the principal that justice requires fair compensation. Unfortunately, you will not get it without a fight and for that you need an advocate with the commitment, skill, and resources to win for you what you deserve.
Injured people must fight for their rights at an extremely difficult time in their life when a fight is that last thing they need or want. As medical bills mount, and you try to learn to live with pain and disability, it falls to you to claim what you are owed. It makes no difference whether you have been hurt by a person, a company, a hospital, or the government. You will face specialists devoted to limiting your recovery as much as possible and with no regard to what is “fair” or “just.” Insurers and defense lawyers are obligated to save their companies and clients as much as possible. Like it or not, the deck is stacked against you.
No matter the reason, we are here for you. To care, to fight, and to win.

About BRYAN

Bryan founded Doran Law to combine the best of two practice areas that began his career: personal injury and complex commercial litigation. He wanted to provide to injured people the attention to detail and quality of work demanded of corporate clients. “What I loved about corporate litigation was the time and opportunity to leave no stone unturned and produce the best possible case for my client. But wins felt empty. They lacked moral clarity. I could appreciate my client's economic interest, but fighting for people who are outmatched by the wealthy insurance companies that oppose them felt righteous in a way fighting for wealthy companies did not." Bryan’s feelings about law and justice, and the priority of helping “real people,” were shaped by his first mentor. Bryan’s career began, after graduating at the top of his class from law school, as a Judicial Clerk for the late Honorable Tom Chambers of the Washington State Supreme Court. Justice Chambers was, before joining the Court, perhaps the most renowned and accomplished personal injury lawyer in the State of Washington. The Justice once wrote to Bryan a message that has echoed throughout his career: “the law is not done until it is done right.”

“Injured people are, on average, extremely vulnerable and in a poor position to advocate for themselves. First, most have never had to deal with lawyers or any kind of legal claim. Negligent misconduct creates victims from all demographics and most people have never before been exposed to litigation. Their opponent is sophisticated, experienced, and well-funded. Second, injury is debilitating and distracting. Agents of negligent parties, typically insurance companies, will call victims trying to resolve their claim while victims are still trying to manage the pain, stress, and disruption to their lives caused by their injury. That vulnerability is exploited and, even when it is clear to all involved that the claimant deserves compensation, companies will force injured people to go through litigation to get it. They will hire doctors who make hundreds of thousands and often millions of dollars a year claiming people aren’t as injured as they and their treating doctors say they are. If they can underpay, they will — whether it is fair or not. Without a strong advocate, victims get less than they deserve, which is a tragic injustice. I choose to fight on the right side of the law.”

In addition to wanting to fight on the side of justice, Bryan is motivated by the opportunities for compassion and human relationships personal injury law affords. “I once won a case that saved a Fortune 500 company millions of dollars. I did not get so much as a thank you — just payment for my time. In another case, I represented a widow and two orphans devastated by the loss of their husband and father. We hugged and cried together over the loss, and when we won millions of dollars. I could never practice compassion and feel a human connection working for companies. That was another thing Justice Chambers told me: 'represent people, not companies, and you will be on the side of justice.'"

Bryan is the primary point of contact for every one of his clients. Other attorneys and staff may work on your case, but you will talk to Bryan when you have questions about your case or simply need someone to listen. Bryan insists on an open door policy. Anytime, for any reason, you need to talk — to understand your case, to vent your frustration with “the other side’s” tactics or just to be heard — Bryan will be there for you.
